There will be a Farm Tractor pulling contest on Thursday, July 12th, 2007 starting at 5:30 p.m. This tractor pull will be run by the latest approved Rules and Regulations of the Connecticut State Tractor Pullers Association. Tractors will be weighed in on Thursday, July 12, starting at 4:00 p.m. with the 4,500 lb. Stock A class tractors. All tractors will conform to the CSTPA Rules and Safety Regulations. The Rules and Regulations can be obtained from the Chairperson of this pull.
"A" Stock - Strictly Stock
"B" Stock - Wide tires, cut tires, 3100 RPM max allowed.

The classes are as follows:

PEDAL TRACTOR PULL CONTEST

Starting Time 9:00 a.m. in pull ring
RULES
  1. This contest is open to boys and girls from 4 to 7 years of age.
  2. Classes will be made up by age group. If there are insufficient entries in any one age group, contestants from the next age group may be added to provide competi­tion. There also may be a “FREE FOR ALL” class.
  3. All contestants will use pedal tractor and transfer sled provided by the NORTH STONINGTON FAIR.
  4. All contestants will be allowed three attempts to pull the transfer sled the furthest distance with a specific weight load.
  5. After all contestants have made their attempts with the initial weight on the sled, addi­tional weight will be added to the transfer sled and all the contestants who qualified in rule 4 will attempt to pull the heavier weight the furthest distance in three attempts.
  6. The winner in each class will be the contestant who pulls the heaviest load the furthest distance.
  7. AWARDS: Winner in each class will receive a trophy and ribbon, second and third place will also get ribbons.

Condensed Pulling Rules

Starting Approximately 5:00 P.M.

  1. Tractors must be 1955 or older and on rubber tires. Iron wheeled tractors are for display only.
  2. Tractors cannot be modified to improve performance and must be stock appearing. Some non-standard replacement parts are allowed where factory items are no longer available. Engines must be controlled by a functioning governor.
  3. Working implements must be removed, belt pulleys, PTO and three point hitch equip­ment may be removed. Factory weights and loaded tires are permitted.
  4. Tractors must be equipped with wheelie bars and fixed hooking rings.
  5. Pulling pit is twelve feet wide. The weight sled is pulled in alternate directions and a full pull is six feet. Three hitches and three minutes are allowed for a turn at pulling.
  6. Tractors compete in seven weight classes:
    Class I 2500 lbs
    Class II 3000 lbs
    Class III 3500 lbs
    Class IV 4000 lbs
    Class V 4500 lbs
    Class VI 5500 lbs
    Class VII 6500 lbs
  7. Order of finish is based on a ratio of sled weight divided by tractor weight with credit given for best partial pull.
  8. Drivers are cautioned to be careful at all times. Tractors are in neutral and operator’s hands raised when hooking and unhooking.
