The Carriage Driving Horse Show is organized for the North Stonington Agricultural Fair by
the Connecticut Valley Driving Club who’s mission it is to preserve the tradition of driving horses
and Carriages.

Show judge, John Bennett Jr., is a long-time trainer, judge and carriage driving competitor.  John Bennett Jr. has been managing and training horses for more than 45 years. He opened up John Bennett Stables in 1978
concentrating mostly on Morgan show horses. For the past 20 years he has concentrated on carriage driving, training
horses and clients for mostly pleasure shows. In 1986 John accepted the position at the University of Connecticut as the
horse unit manager, a position he held for 32 years. He’s trained many successful horses including UC Domination,
UC Doc Sanchez, UC Merlin and UC Tee Rose to name a few. John has held a USEF judge’s card in the Morgan and equitation division for 25 years. We welcome John to officiate at the 2023 North Stonington Fair.
